This is why, hair loss is a natural indicator of underlying health issues, which need to be addressed. Start with maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For instance, increase your intake of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables to get a steady supply of vitamins and minerals, essential for hair growth. Also, increase your intake of proteins like eggs, legumes and milk-products to add to the health of your hair.
2. Regularly go for hair massaging
One of the primary causes of hair loss is dry hair follicles. One of the best ways to stimulate hair follicles and subsequently, hair growth is to opt for a hair massage on a regular basis. You can go for hair massage on every alternate day. For this purpose, choose any natural oil of your choice. Coconut, almond and even olive oil are said to be quite effective for this purpose. Massage your scalp and gradually work towards the hair ends and rinse off with a mild shampoo. Alternatively, you can also wrap up your head in a hot towel soon after the massage to restore the moisture and for softer, shinier, healthier hair. This will increase circulation and activate your follicles along with cleansing your scalp.
3. Avoid dirt, dust and pollutants
Exposure to dirt, dust and pollutants seems to have become the part and parcel of our lives. These make your hair dirty, dull and unhealthy, leading to hair fall. While you can’t avoid them completely, you can always cover your hair while stepping out of your home. Wearing a scarf, hat or even tying up your hair can be of help when you want to avoid pollutants exposure.
4. Say no to excessive heat
Using styling tools and blow drying your hair often can leave you with a scalp with scanty hair. Therefore, stay away from styling tools such as hair straighteners and curling irons and avoid blow drying your hair on a regular basis. If at all you need to use them, then make sure that you use a blow dryer with a diffuser or just let your hair dry naturally by leaving it open for some time. Also, try and use heat-protecting spray or hair serums before you style your hair using styling tools. This will protect you from frequent hair fall.
